As I sit here typing this post, I should actually be typing my two 5 page essays for my Business Ethics take home exam. However, I'm having so much trouble writing them that I seem to be finding any excuse not to. So here I am typing this blog.
As not much new and all together interesting has happened this past week I have decided to try something a little different for this post. In the spirit of exams I would like every body who reads this blog to ask me a question in the form of a comment. Then I will answer the question as a comment and maybe we can get a little dialog going of questions and answers. This way you can find out all you want to know about life in Sweden and I won't feel bad about not having written a blog in awhile. It's a win-win situation for all.
So please feel free to comment and I look forward to answering your questions.
Hej då
PS: I hope someone actually asks something otherwise I'm going to feel just a little foolish!

I'll start by asking the first question; How do you post a comment?
ReplyDeleteTo post a comment:
1) Click on the scroll down bar next to 'Comment as:' and select either 'Name/URL' or 'Anonymous'
2) If you choose 'Name/URL' then only type your name in the edit profile box that appears and click 'continue'. If you choose 'Anonymous' go to step 3.
3) Type your comment in the white box.
4) Once you have finished typing a really cool comment/question. Click on the 'post comment' button at the bottom and just like that you have posted a comment!
What is public transport like?
ReplyDeleteHas it started getting very cold yet?
Will write again
Love you lots
Linköping is not the biggest town in the world, but it is very advanced and has a very good public transport system. The buses are on time, they get me to where I want to go, it's not very expensive and I have a funky card...so in short I'm happy =)
ReplyDeleteCompared to SA it is freezing, but according to the locals the worst is still to come because it has not really dropped below zero during the day yet and the snow is still coming! But it has gotten very dark, I don't see the sun much and it is not even 5 and it's already dark outside.
Thanks for the questions Otto at least I don't feel foolish anymore!
I met John Satchel the other day and he said I must ask you about how the doors open and the light switches work. Hope you have noticed a difference.
ReplyDeleteMy computer is still dowm so I am at KPS writing this comment. We had a terrible storm on Monday, strong winds and even hail, lightning and thunder. Do you have that type of weather or just rain and snow?
It is one of the first things you notice...it's completely opposite! You turn a light on to turn it off and off to turn it on...The doors you have lock to open and open to lock...I hope that makes some sense? Just practice the movements and you'll see what I mean.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is never really windy in Linköping, but it has been raining a lot lately, but still no snow. However, today is a beautiful day and I'm still stuck inside typing my exam!
The storm happened on Monday. I reported the fault on Tuesday. I had to sit for 40 min "Please wait your call will in answered in 20 min. Please don't hang up your call is important to us etc etc." I went down to the office in town and they made me use their phone and wait to be served. Today is Thursday and still no sign of the repair men.
ReplyDeleteI am at KPS taking a few Computer Classes for Mr Opperman. Nice job.
Anyway my question today is??????
Would you have to wait 4 or 5 days before your phone is fixed in Sweden? Do they have more than one provider? (TELKOM)
Not having a telephone is very fustrating when I depend on the computer and phone for so much of my contact with the outside world. Imagine if I was running a business from home??!!!!XX&& etc
My next class is at the door.I must end off now.
Contact you tomorrow
Enjoy the sun while it is still with you.
Did you manage to finish your exams?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they went well in the end.
Tons of love xx
Still waiting for the phone to be fixed. At KPS again waioting for my class to arrive. Lots of excitement here - the Gr 4 classes are having their "Market Day" during break and this evening the Parents have organised the annual "Food Carnival" Lots of activity.
ReplyDeleteElmor and Hennie have gone on another Safari so Andy and I have to do the Biltong selling for them over the next three weeks.
Aldo has started his finals at 9:00 today(now 9:30) He is doing Afrikaans. We are all praying for him.
Keep well
I was finally able to finish my exam and e-mailed it yesterday. Sending in papers is a really stressful time for me because I've come to realize I'm really bad at referencing! It is not really something that the engineering department took seriously, but try submitting an ethics paper with incorrect reference...in short...NIGHTMARE! Lets hold thumbs that it is OK...I mean everything has been said by someone before anyway!?!
ReplyDeleteI'm really sorry to hear about the phone Dad because I've kinda missed the daily skype check up sessions you and mom are so fond of ;-) Plus I've got some interesting news about my project, but I will tell you all about that very very soon!
With regards to your question, I have no idea about the landline telephone operators as I don't have or need one, but there are quiet a few cellphone operators like in SA. However, when it comes to being kept on hold it is the same. I tried to phone my banks internet support the other day because I can't seem to log on to my account, something about my password...very annoying! Anyway I was kept on hold so long that I was able to Facebook, check my emails and even have a cup of coffee. What was even worse was the fact that it kept telling me I was number one in the queue! Can't believe I fell for that one because I'm sure there must have been hundreds of people also waiting being told they are number one in the queue because it took forever and I eventually hang up (I was wasting airtime!)
Thanks for the questions and enjoy the food carnival, biltong sales and the rugby tomorrow...GO BULLS!!!I have a corridor party tonight and Halloween party tomorrow so it will be another busy weekend, but I'll tell you all about it soon.
PS: Please tell Aldo I'm thinking about him and that I'll try give him a call as soon as I have more airtime...
